14 week old male mini dachshund is completely different after boarding him for 4 nights:( did we make a mistake:(

We got him at 8 weeks & had to go out of town unexpectedly. I consulted my vet, who works at the hospital we boarded him. She said he'd be played with, taken care of, etc. and not be neglected. today when I picked him up, he's completely different. He bites me harder than his usual nips, he won't go near his crate, (which he's usually fond of), he won't eat, he's afraid to be left alone. Did we make a mistake?

sounds like he is "teething more" I don't think there is any alarm here.
I have to say though, once a long time ago, my dog came back from a boarding facility, someone jabbed holes in her rib cage. The vet suspected a pitchfork. I noted the lady telling me the dog got out. But, never dreamed anyone would hurt my dog like that. Rare things like abuse happen everywhere.
but, I suspect nothing in your case. I think he is just not eating from stress.
It won't hurt putting crate beside bed with food going into it each and every time. Also, get a rubber kong for teething, hopefully soon he will forget his stress. Add a touch of ground hamburger to encourage eating mix it and mash it in his kibble.

No, you didn't make a mistake. I never board my pets, we got people to come and watch them for us.

Like Dieta said, what I take all of her advice into thought.

Your dog is probably just scarted of being taken back. Or isn't sure whats going on.

Hope everything goes well.
