13 yr old Mini Schnauzer has slight diarrhea gurgling stomach. I have fed rice/chicken. it worked but he is sick again.

He ingested table food and had vomiting & diarrhea after 24 hours without food I put him on boiled chicken & rice He did well.I slowly introduced to his regular dog food. He did okay for a week now he has the same symptoms. I can not afford to take him to the vet.

I'd try putting him back on the chicken and rice and giving him a Pepcid every 12 hrs. Whatever he's got, he clearly can't fight it on his own, so he'll likely need a trip to the vet. Maybe call and ask the vet if he or she can offer payment arrangements of some form.

I agree with the vet thing . But if you really need something to try, maybe some pure pumpkin mixed in with his food can help to calm his stomach a bit.

As dog's age, sometimes they have digestive problems, and it's better to keep them on a consistent diet, like food that is designed for older dogs.

Quit bouncing his diet around, feed him a Senior Diet, and just say NO when he ask for your food.
