SAN FRANCISCO, Dec 8, 2005 -- Dogster.com and Catster.com announce
today the winners of The World's Coolest Dog & Cat Show, the competition where
the people not the pedigree decide. The winners for each category as well as
Best In Show can be seen at http://www.dogster.com/show.
The World's Coolest Dog & Cat Show is an online contest open to any U.S.
cat or dog registered with Catster or Dogster, regardless of breed (or lack
thereof). With 1.1 million votes cast and more than 20,000 entrants, the
contest attracted some of the most talented and funniest pets in the country.
Best In Show winner for dogs is Kiara, of Palm Harbor, FL who is just
tennis ball crazy. Boo Radley of Dallas, Texas was named Best In Show among
cats stealing the show with his mom Kalli cat in the best friends category.
"What makes this show so special is that it's free to enter with amazing
prizes and no pedigree is required. It's a great alternative to the more
traditional dog and cat shows we are used to seeing around the holidays," said
founder and Top Dog, Ted Rheingold.
All Pets are created equal and the World's Coolest Dog and Cat Show levels
the competition playing field. The event also focuses attention on the ASPCA
and their non-stop efforts to stop animal cruelty. The ASPCA is one of several
great sponsors for the show.
The contest comprised 15 fun categories for cats and 15 for dogs and
attracted entrants from all over the country. Categories included Craziest
Tail, Naughtiest, Best Smile, Sports Fan, Patriotic, Purse Dog and more.
Winners will receive fabulous prizes worth over $25,000 including Nintendo
DS(TM) game systems with their new hit, Nintendogs(TM), Target gift cards,
Year's supply of Dad's pet foods, a photo shoot with New York Dog or Hollywood
Dog magazine and a personalized copy of Dogs 24/7 or Cats 24/7. Other prizes
will be given from sponsors, including Hartville Pet Insurance Company and the
ASPCA.
The World's Coolest Dog & Cat Show is a production of Dogster, Inc, home
to over 170,000 cats and dogs and is open to any dog or cat in the United
States. Sponsored by ASPCA, Nintendo, Dad's, The New York Dog and Hollywood
