SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 22 -- The online communities of
Dogster.com and Catster.com have announced the 150 finalists in The World's
Coolest Dog & Cat Show, the competition where the people not the pedigree
decide. Visit http://www.dogster.com/show.
The World's Coolest Dog & Cat Show is an online contest open to any U.S.
cat or dog registered with Catster or Dogster, regardless of breed (or lack
thereof). With more than 1.1 million votes cast and 20,000 entrants, the
contest attracted some amazing talent. Entry is now closed, but anyone can
register to vote for Best In Show.
"This contest is really about our community. Members of Dogster & Catster
entered their pets and voted for these finalists, and this show is really a
reflection of their passion for pets," said founder and Top Dog, Ted
Rheingold.
Who has the craziest tail or best smile? Who will win Purse Pup or Scaredy
Cat? Our celebrity panel of judges will decide the winners in each category.
The Dogster and Catster communities now vote to decide Best In Show, given to
the single favorite cat and dog. Winners will be announced Dec. 9.
Registering at Dogster or Catster is free, and you don't even need a pet to
become a member; any registered site user can stroll through the categories
and vote for their favorites.
Winners will receive fabulous prizes worth over $25,000 including Nintendo
DS(TM) game system with their new hit, Nintendogs(TM), Target gift cards,
Dad's pet foods, a photo shoot with New York Dog or Hollywood Dog magazine and
a personalized copy of Dogs 24/7 or Cats 24/7. Other prizes will be given from
sponsors, including the ASPCA and Hartville Pet Insurance Company.
The World's Coolest Dog & Cat Show is a production of Dogster Inc and is
open to any dog or cat in the United States. Votes will be cast by the members
of the Dogster and Catster communities, home to over 170,000 cats and dogs.
Sponsored by ASPCA, Nintendo, Dad's, The New York Dog, Dogs and Cats 24/7,
PetsHealth Care Plan and Target.
