SAN FRANCISCO, January 17, 2006 -- Dogster, Inc. has announced the launch of Dogster & Catster Groups. The new service enables dog and cat lovers to form affinty groups on the popular site. Members can invite other memmbers to join, message each other, schedule events, add group photos and publish relevant links.

Although Groups has only been live and in beta for a few weeks, there are already many colorful clubs, associations and packs. "Absolutely Golden" is a group for Golden Retriever lovers. "Agility" is for dogs involved or interested in agility training and competition. "The Upper East Side Pup Club" is home to the Manhattan neighborhood's most celebrated pubs. The largest group so far with over 250 members is "Maltese Mommys" whose motto is, "Wags & brags & advice that doesn't bite!"

"We are really excited about groups. It empowers our members to form affinity clusters around subjects that are important to them and their pets . Whether it be global or local, political or social, anything that they are passionate about is fair play," said founder and Top Dog, Ted Rheingold.

Dogster.com launched in January 2004. Catster.com in August 2004. The sites are owned by Dogster, Inc., a private company. The sites combine for over 150,000 members and over 10 million page views per month.
